Air treatment

Ventilation air flows from wastewater and sludge treatment processes are treated in chemical scrubbers. Air from the most upline processes, (which carries the strongest odour) is washed with caustic soda and oxidizing agents before being mixed with the air from the other processes. All the air then goes through a three-stage washing process using sulphuric acid, hypochlorite and caustic soda. The ventilation flow of the sludge dewatering is treated in a activated carbon filter.
